Therapy with me
Clients come to therapy with me for many and varied reasons: sometimes for support to address a specific mental health problem, such as anxiety (panic attacks or social anxiety) or low mood; sometimes because of a dilemma or difficult experience: the end of a relationship, a bereavement, becoming a parent, struggling at work; sometimes for support with relationship or attachment issues that are presenting problems in romantic, family, or workplace relationships. Sometimes clients come because they feel stuck, they feel uncertain, they feel they have lost their way and they want to reconnect with themselves. Our work in therapy will support you towards healing and growth through a deeper understanding of yourself and the challenges you are experiencing.
Make a space, be curious… you will be welcome.
Reconnect with yourself - and thrive.
I am a HCPC registered psychotherapist and have been practicing since 2017. Over the years I have worked with a wide range of clients; from those who are looking for a safe yet challenging space to reflect and grow, to those who are in need of support with a specific mental health issue.
I have worked in the NHS, charities and in the private sector. This has included working with groups and individuals experiencing mental health crisis, eating disorders, anxiety disorders (inc panic, GAD, OCD), low mood, relationship difficulties, low self esteem, chronic illness, work place difficulties, matresence, adverse childhood experiences (inc. childhood sexual abuse), late diagnosis ADHD and ASC, and bereavement.
I offer creative psychodynamic therapy. In session, I listen deeply and will work to better understand you and the problems you are bringing to therapy. Usually we start in the here-and-now but over the course of therapy will think about how life has shaped you, informed your beliefs and world view: made an imprint in conscious and unconscious ways. You will be invited to talk things through. You will also be invited reflect creatively, and to build a creative reflective practice. This is always an invitation, and if you prefer to stick to talking, that's ok with me.
I offer a space that is warm and empathic. My approach is explorative (rather than directive) - I will share my reflections and observations, encourage you to reflect deeply, support you to feel through (as well as think through) the issues you are bringing, and at times will offer gentle challenge - as all good therapists should.
I also offer workshops, trainings and reflective practice for groups. For more information read here.
